LX OS NEXT_GEN

LX OS 4.0

These are the beta updates for the next generation of LX OS.
The latest beta is version 4.000//alpha0.0 (Milestone 5.5)
LX is currently working on the next beta (4.000//alpha0.0 (Milestone 6))
Please, keep in mind that betas are very unstable, making them unsuitable for regular use. If installing on normal hardware (not a VM), back up your data before installing. This beta will run on a pentium 4 or newer (with an opengl 3 and 3d capable graphics card), or a 2016 intel core i3 or newer with an iGPU, along with 700mb of ram, and 32 GB of storage. If using a VM, 3D acceleration MUST be turned on in order for LX OS's new compositor to work. You won't be able to go into the desktop enviorment without it.

If you want to make an ISO (to install to real hardware) out of an LX OS 4.0 beta that LX has not made one for, you can run this command on milestone 4 and up:

sudo eggs produce --clone

And, in versions prior to Milestone 4, you must install penguins-eggs yourself, and then run that same command on top.

LX OS Legacy

LX OS 3.0 - 3.2

These are the beta updates for the current mainstream version of LX OS.
The latest beta is version 3.015//offical (Milestone 50 RTM)
LX is not currently working on the next beta (3.100//offical (Milestone 51 RTM))
These betas are bugfixes, making them well suitable for regular use. These betas will run on a pentium 4 or newer (with an opengl 3 and 3d capable graphics card), or a 2016 intel core i3 or newer with an iGPU, along with 512mb of ram, and 32 GB of storage. If using a VM, 3D acceleration MUST be turned on in order for most things to work.

No instructions on how to make an ISO are here, because an ISO is how it's mainly provided.

There is no ISO availible for this OS. It was intended to be a lighter version of LX OS for older devices, but now, LX OS has groundbreaking technology to adapt to your computer config, allowing maximum preformance, all in one ISO, which lead to this project's obsolecense.
